School students of French, especially those in their final year of study or just before going to university, may be tempted by the idea of staying with a family in France for a short period, or of arranging an exchange with a French student of their own age for a few weeks or even several months. Unlike some European countries (Germany for instance) it is not always easy to find families in France interested in participating in such schemes. Through our network of family and school contacts, we can probably help you.

SCHOOL STUDENTS OF FRENCH
FOR COMPLETE DETAILS PLEASE CONSULT THE ATTACHED DOCUMENT
Many students, indeed their teachers and parents as well, will no doubt be aware of the difficulties which can arise when trying to organise private home-stays or exchange visits with French families. There are a number of reasons for this, but families do exist in France who are keen to benefit from this sort of cultural exchange, and who would like their own offspring to take advantage of the experiences such home-stays and exchange visits provide.
Accommodation, attendance at school, choice of venue, dates can all present serious problems for French families, which we try and explain in the attached document, and which, with our 25 years of experience, we manage to overcome! In very many cases, the initial stays which we have organised have led to long-term friendships and frequent re-visting and exchange holidays.
We can help you with all your arrangements (except your travel to France). We will make sure that you are in close communication with your host family before coming to France, ensure a smooth arrival and organise all that you require for your first few days in France if you do not go directly to stay with your family, provide you with travel passes and rail tickets, and explain how you can remain in touch with us at all times throughout your stay in France.
All cost details are described in the attached document, together with suggestions of the various ways in which we can help you plan for your arrival in France.
Whether you are the student concerned or his/her teacher or parents, and you would like further information or to discuss ideas before committing yourself in anway at all, please do not hesitate to contact Annie & David Bancroft at
Our approach has always been, and will always remain firmly based on the principles of friendly and family based inter-communication.
